The Receptor is a newspaper unravelling the secrets of the former Soesterberg airbase in Holland through witty articles from Paul Kempers, Joeri Boom and Christiaan Fruneaux. It's design is based on the lozenge camouflage pattern which creates a peculiar grid comprising very small or big columns. The texts interconnect in a complex formation evoking not only a military pattern but also the difficulty of accessing secrets. The idea of censoring is represented in this “The Secret” issue through covering up parts of images which can later be rediscovered.
The website is The Receptors virtual representative, where all the articles of this and coming issues can be found in Dutch and in English. The design with it's “high-tech” feel enables a logical and comfortable read, ranking possibilities, a twitter feed and even a Soesterberg weather update!
